The Home Front: Hollywood
During World War II, most the nation was behind the war effort. Hollywood responded by making movies to uplift the American people and to sustain morale. Some movie stars went to work for the U.S.O. to provide entertainment for troops at home and on the battlefronts. Bob Hope was among the biggest supporters of the military.
In our group, U.S. Alive in '45, we represent this effort to support America with our own "movie star" who tap dances her way into the hearts of American G.I.s
